BlueTape

Director of Engineering · US fintech · 2022-today

  • From one bottleneck to a team. When I joined, delivery ran through one senior engineer while 3-4 others worked on non-critical features. I built the team to 15 engineers and hired 25+ people over four years.
  • Ownership made explicit. Put team leads in place with clear ownership and set up the operating rhythm the company still runs on.
  • Releases became routine. Moved the team to frequent releases and eliminated post-deployment outages.
  • AI in the everyday workflow. Brought AI into how the team works: planning, implementation, writing test scenarios and producing documentation.

HBO GO

Backend for HBO · Central Europe & Latin America · 2012-2021

  • Releases stopped being events. Replaced manual deploys with a fully automated build-and-release pipeline.
  • 10× concurrent streaming capacity. Led the redesign of one delivery bottleneck into a dedicated service. Not a rewrite.
  • Latin America launch. Launched HBO GO across Latin America on web, mobile, smart TVs and consoles, and rolled the content system out across Central Europe, Asia and Latin America.
  • Process that stuck. Introduced Scrum and backlog/release discipline, then ran it as Backend Product Owner through the Latin America launches.
